Slightly Hungover T-Mobile Live Trouble Shooting Chat...

Here is the question I sent to the Live Chat T-Mobile  ”online assistant” today:

At one point, I was covered under Suncom. I am on a family plan, and the whole family switched to T-Mobile. I was given a phone with our T-mobile family plan, and at that point, my Suncom Sim card was unlocked to be used with my t-mobile phone (a samsung sgh-c416.) Since then, that phone has gotten damaged when I rode my bicycle through the rain to see an Andrew W K concert… (I know… I know… Andrew W K… What am I? 12? But honestly, it was phenomenal!) Since my family is all on that plan, I was given another one of the Samsung SGH-C416s that was included with the T-Mobile family plan package from which my phone came. When I switched my sim card over to the new phone, it asks for a SIMLOCK PASSWORD. After hours and hours of research online (which sort of devolved into watching hours and hours of SKOAL REBEL videos… seriously, just search Youtube for “Skoal Rebel” and you won’t be disappointed…) I gave up and decided it wouldn’t be possible to do this alone. I’m really sorry to have to bother you with this kind of crap on a Sunday, but I really need some help. Got any answers?! Thanks for your time, and in all things, always remember that I guess I’ll keep on ramblin, lots of booze and lots of gamblin, but it seems easier than just a’ waitin’ round to die…. -Jamie McGaw (T-Mobile user and friend…)

And here is the conversation we had after about a 45 minute wait. Gotta be honest, my favorite line is “I don’t see any other steps we can try, Jamie.”

You have been connected to ^Kizzie M.
^Kizzie M: Hi Jamie , welcome to T-Mobile live Chat. I’m ^Kizzie and I will be happy to assist you. Please give me a moment to review your question.
Jamie McGaw: Sure thing!
^Kizzie M: Thanks.
^Kizzie M: We regret any inconvenience you may have experienced with trying to get this device unlocked. I’ll be more than happy to assist you.
Jamie McGaw: Don’t regret anything, okay, Kizzie… it’s totally not your fault…
^Kizzie M: Jamie, can you verify the name on the account please?
Jamie McGaw: okay… what steps should I take?
Jamie McGaw: I believe it’s James A McGaw
^Kizzie M: Thanks.
Jamie McGaw: Kizzie, how’s it looking for me? Is there any hope?
^Kizzie M: It may be some hope. I just need to find out if this password that it is asking for is for unlocking the device to use on the T-Mobile network.
Jamie McGaw: okay, sweet. If it’s any help, it’s the first thing that comes up after I turn the phone on. All it says is “Simlock Password” and then there’s a little window where I can enter up to 8 digits.
^Kizzie M: Jamie, are you still using you Suncom Sim Card?
Jamie McGaw: yes
^Kizzie M: It still sounds like you may need to unlock the Sim to use on the T-Mobile Network.
Jamie McGaw: okay… what steps should I take??
^Kizzie M: I can put in a request for you, it can take up to 24 hours for the request to be completed and can take as long as 14 days.
Jamie McGaw: oh, man… that’s not fun
Jamie McGaw: is there anything faster we can do?
Jamie McGaw: the thing is
Jamie McGaw: it doesn’t need to be unlocked to be used on the tmobile network, because the sim card is already unlocked
Jamie McGaw: it works fine in my water damaged phone
Jamie McGaw: it’s just that the PHONE’s keypad doesn’t work, so I can’t really use that phone anymore
^Kizzie M: All we can do is hope that it doesn’t take that long. Pretty much the only reason it would take that long is if we have to contact another Manufacturer, but since we are technically the Manufacturer it should go pretty fast.
Jamie McGaw: but I have another phone that is the exact same model phone. The sim card is already functional on the tmobile network… it just won’t function in the other phone
^Kizzie M: Does it say anything about a PUK Code?
Jamie McGaw: No.. it just asks for the simcard password… nothing about IMEIs or PUKs
^Kizzie M: Did you set a password to your Sim Card in the other phone?
Jamie McGaw: yes
Jamie McGaw: I set it to 00000000
Jamie McGaw: but that still doesn’t work in the new phone
^Kizzie M: Okay.
Jamie McGaw: I have tried it with simcard password enabled and disabled
^Kizzie M: Hold on just a moment let me see if it is a default one you can use.
Jamie McGaw: cool, thanks
^Kizzie M: You’re welcome.
^Kizzie M: The default Sim Pin is 1234.
Jamie McGaw: If this works, I swear I will carve “T-Mobile” into my jac-o-lantern this year… let me give a shot real quick
^Kizzie M: Okay.
Jamie McGaw: it says “wrong password”
Jamie McGaw: so no on the jack-o-lantern
Jamie McGaw: but
Jamie McGaw: Is there something else we can try?
^Kizzie M: You stated that you tried to disable it in the other device?
Jamie McGaw: yup
Jamie McGaw: that’s correct
Jamie McGaw: Even with it disabled, the new phone asks for the passcode
^Kizzie M: Thanks.
Jamie McGaw: You’re welcome.
^Kizzie M: I don’t see anymore steps to try, Jamie.
Jamie McGaw: Is there anyone else I can talk to?
^Kizzie M: The only other thing you can try is switching over to a T-Mobile Sim Card.
Jamie McGaw: Well, I don’t understand that, because it works in the other phone…
Jamie McGaw: which is…
Jamie McGaw: the exact same phone
^Kizzie M: Yes, I understand that.
Jamie McGaw: Are you getting angry? Please don’t. I am frustrated too, but together, Kizzie, we can get through this…
Jamie McGaw: and I really need a phone pretty soon
Jamie McGaw: I have a feeling they’re just gonna run me through this same ringer in the T-Mobile store
Jamie McGaw: So, I’d love to just resolve this right now if possible…
^Kizzie M: No, Jamie I’m not getting frustrated.
Jamie McGaw: Okay, good.
Jamie McGaw: You’re a very patient person, and for that, I’m most grateful
^Kizzie M: I apologize if it came off like that. I was just saying that I understand that it is working in the other device.
^Kizzie M: Thanks.
Jamie McGaw: No, you don’t need to apologize to me… I’m not going to like file a weird report or something… You’re being helpful
Jamie McGaw: It’s just like… I REALLY need this phone…
Jamie McGaw: let’s talk just as friends for a second… off the record… can you just give me a code that will solve this…
Jamie McGaw: I’m not running a weird scam
Jamie McGaw: I just want my phone to work…
^Kizzie M: That was the only default code that the system gave me.
Jamie McGaw: the other one is water-damaged, and I really just don’t want to go into the T-Mobile store for them to try to sell me something I don’t want
Jamie McGaw: That might be an unfair stereotype, but have you ever been in one of the stores?
Jamie McGaw: It’s nuts
^Kizzie M: I’ve only been in a T-Mobile store once.
Jamie McGaw: Dude, I don’t blame you…
Jamie McGaw: Well, Kizzie, I’m not gonna break your balls over this… I’ve got to go anyway, but listen, you’ve been helpful… Have a good day, and I swear, I’m gonna get this thing working! Peace, my friend!
^Kizzie M: Thank you for contacting T-Mobile Chat, have a great day!

“Wintersport” - DJ H@H@

AKA: Track 8 Theory

AKA: DJ FUMBLE FINGERZ

AKA: LAFFTER BOY

AKA: JUMPSHOT

AKA: I drank red wine last night, and I’m really sorry, David Sampson

AKA: Seriously, it was disgusting…

Those last two monikers are excruciatingly tedious, and don’t fit well on flyers.

So, I made this to accompany a video with which my friend David Sampson is involved. (It’s a VERY serious video… about people swinging from ropes who ARE NOT CLOWNS! THEY’RE ATHLETES!!!)

I think it came out rather nicely. This is DEFINITELY a rough mix, but again, as it has been an age since I’ve made a post, I’ll go ahead and slop this one up unfinished.

I’m getting paid in the form of a really expensive hooded sweatshirt, and I can NOT tell you how pumped I am. This winter is going to be very VERY cold.

I also just want to say a HUGE hello to all my friends back home in Augusta, GA. I’m missing you guys like crazy right about now. Joyce, don’t forget to set up that show at Soul Bar for the 18th of September. Yeah, that’s right!

VERY ADVANCED INTERNET ROBOTS (QUIETTE, DJ H@H@, ROCKYHORROR!) will be playing Soul Bar September 18th. Bring your dancing feet. Peace, everyone!

I know how you LOVE him, Joyce!!!

Well, sometimes you just have to hug it out! This man is absolutely amazing, and what I was able to see of his show was phenomenal. He was by far the most articulate and NICEST person we interviewed all weekend. Check out the interview we did with him soon at www.venuszine.com under the “video” section.

DJ H@H@ - Rhythm of the Night (Pilsen Edit)

Okay, so this is a tip of the hat to an old classic. I made this a while back, but I’m going to just post it now, because I have been sort of lazy (aka, the windows portion of my mac crashed and wiped out all my project files…) and haven’t been making much new stuff lately.

I dropped it at Tacky Prom in Augusta, Georgia and it seemed to please the crowd!

Went down to Mississippi to DJ a party this weekend. Had loads of fun and got to visit my sister and her husband. He is a “space lawyer.” Yes, that’s a real thing, and YES, it is very exciting! One of my side projects, “Mr. Body” is currently writing a spaced-out disco track in his honor called “Space Law.” It should be out sometime relatively soon.

Anyway, everyone stay well, and enjoy this track! I’m gonna be releasing a downloadable version of all these tracks at some point, or a mix you can download or something.

Peace.

-Jamie

“PeepTastic” - DJ H@H@

A few months ago, I was blessed with meeting one of the coolest little dudes of all time. His name, as far as you all are concerned, is “Peeps.” Check out this video of Mr. Peeps in action posted by his daddy, and my musical companion, D.C. Collins.

http://img32.yfrog.com/i/440.mp4/

If you can find something even REMOTELY as  cute, PLEASE let me know so that I can go ahead and let you know exactly how wrong you are…

Anyway, to pay homage to the coolest baby from the loins (yes, LOINS!) of the coolest parents, I made a remix using some samples from this video. I honestly think it will just SCARE peeps, but it might be good for some rump shaking later in his life…

I mean, listen to that SCREAM. Look out Axl Rose! WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE GYM, BABY!!!!!!

PEACE! LOINS!

I’m sure everyone is aware of my love of Crunk Rap at this point. I think it’s reached an unhealthy level. I sometimes have to remind myself that I can’t actually just drink expensive liquor all night at a dance club and act like I’m really tough without getting the shit kicked out of me.

This gem, as you probably also know, comes from a group out of Atlanta, Ga. by the name of Crime Mob. I was reminded of its glory last night by my good friend, David Sampson (who called them “Sex Mob,” which is an adequate substitute considering how SMOKING hot Diamond is. Too bad she’s left the group apparently. Oh yeah, and just in case you think she’s not already enough of a bad ass, she got arrested in May for beating someone’s ass on her tour bus. That’s pretty intense…_ http://tiny.cc/4ExSG)

Also, one of the other dudes that quit was up on some child molestation charges. He loves the way she rocks…her crib… she rocks her crib…

Anyway, check out this remix I did of “Stiletos (Pumps)” It’s pretty bangin’.

DJ H@H@ - “Madder’n Fish Grease”

For your consideration…

(See post below for the inspiration behind this. Please watch the entire video. It’s totally worth it…)
